As couples, we bring our whole selves into the mix and somehow expect a magical meeting of minds! The focus of couples counselling is the 'relationship' - how it has evolved over time, what has come in that needs to go; what has gone that needs to come back! Relationship counselling looks at your individual influences from childhood, helps you to gain self-awareness together to increase mutual understanding as to how you convey your needs , and uses tools to help you both find effective and healthy ways to communicate.
I am an accredited integrative psycho-dynamic counsellor, and I work with adults and couples. You can simply email me, or we can have an initial chat on the phone to discuss your needs. I am happy to do our sessions face to face, or via zoom if preferable, due to distance or access issues. If we agree to work together, I will then email you a referral form to complete prior to arranging your first session. There are no rules as to how long counselling takes but we will have regular six-weekly reviews to see how you are feeling about the sessions and your progress in general. You can stop your sessions at any time.
Consisting of eight two-hour sessions, we will cover topics such as relationship goals, individual family history, communication tools, and conflict resolution, as well as focussing on some important discussion topics. Get in touch for a full break-down of content of each session. Special introductory price! (see price list)
I am a CPCAB Level 6 Supervisor, with a psychodynamic integrative counselling modality that includes person centred, SFBT and Couples Counselling. I use the 7-eyed model of supervision (Hawkins & Shohet), incorporating the Integrative Developmental Model, and receive monthly supervisory supervision in accordance with ethical practice. I work to the supervisee's code of ethics and practice. I will work with supervisees educationally and managerially in a supportive and challenging way that encourages counsellor autonomy and growth. I offer both in-person or remote sessions, to qualified and student counsellors.
